Artifact Armor

It's not just for show, even though Dragoon Artifact Armor looks really cool and and gives a sense of nostalgia towards older Final Fantasy Dragoons like Kain, it is also some of the best armor for a Dragoon in their 50s and 60s. The enhanced set will even last you until your 75 when you'll possibly start slobbering over the Relic Armor. Anyways, onto information about the Artifact Set for Dragoons.

While the Peregrine is part of the Artifact Set, there is no Peregrine +1. If you want something super rare and Dragoon specific at Lvl74/75, it's time to possibly cast your eyes upon Gungnir the Relic Weapon. Relic equipment is not for the faint of heart though, many have put YEARS into getting fully unlocked Relic Weapons.

Here is how to go about getting the first part of the Artifact Set... The Peregrine!


Quest: A Craftsman's Work
NPC: Miaux
Location: Northern San d'Oria (E-6)
Requirements: DRG40

Walkthrough -

1. Speak with Miaux, she needs to fix her father's armor but needs an Altepa Polishing Stone to fix it.
   
2. Go to the Eastern Altepa Desert and you will find ??? at (H-8).
   
3. Touch the ??? to spawn the NM Decurio I-III (note: you do not have to be a DRG for this spawn, if you have a better job go for it.)
   
4. Defeat Decurio I-III and re-examine the ??? to find an Altepa Polishing Stone.
   
5. Bring the Altepa Polishing Stone to Miaux to get your very own Peregrine.

How appropriate that the first piece of armor is pants. Anyways here is the way to get yourself some Drachen Brais.


Quest: Chasing Quotas
NPC: Ceraulian
Location: Port San d'Oria (I-10)
Requirements: DRG50
Items Needed: Gold Hairpin

1. Speak with Ceraulian and he'll mention that he missed his quota and needs a Gold Hairpin.
   
2. Trade him a Gold Hairpin and then wait until midnight in Japan before speaking to him again.
   
3. After speaking with him again go speak with Miaux (from AF1) and she'll give you a Shiny Earring (key item).
   
4. (Optional step, skip to 5 if you want) Speak with Ceraulian again and he'll hint at visiting the Goldsmiths Guild.
   
5. Head all the way to the Goldsmiths Guild in the Bastok Markets and speak with Ardea.
   
6. Travel all the way back to West Ronfaure and speak with Esca in a tower west of San d'Oria (F-6).
   
7. Your objective now is to make it to a small island in the Batallia Downs, you can only get there through the Eldieme Necropolis.
   
8. The entrance to the Eldieme Necropolis from Batallia Downs is in (I-10). You must have someone with you to help get through a switch puzzle.
   
9. The goal is to get to (G-9), here's how to get there
   
   1. Send your partner to the switches at (H-8) while you go to Titan's Gate at (H-9).
      
   2. Have your partner open Titan's Gate then run through and find the switch at (G-9).
      
   3. Use the switch to open the gate so your partner can get through.
      
   4. There are 9 graves, go to the middle one and fall through a whole (note: Lich and Tomb Wolves in the hole aggro to sound, put up sneak if you think you need it)
      
   5. Once in the hole, head south until you zone into Batallia
   
   
10. To the left of the entrance of the island are some ???, examine the ??? to spawn the NM Sturmtiger.
    
11. After you defeat Sturmtiger, examine the ??? to find the key item Ranchuriome's Legacy and bring it to Ceraulian to get the Drachen Brais.

~ Sturmtiger ~ Zone: Batallia Downs Level: 52 Job: none Family: Tiger Drops: nothing Steal: Nothing Behavior: Aggro, Sight Crystal: Lightning Weakness: Fire, Lightning

Three for the price of one, this quest will lead you to the Drachen Finger Guantlets, Drachen Mail, and Drachen Greaves!




Quest: Borghertz's Dragon Hands
NPC: Guslam
Location: Upper Jeuno (H-8)
Requirements: DRG50

Walkthrough -

1. Speak with Guslam, he can be found in the Durable Sheilds shop.
   
2. Get yourself a Boyahda Coffer Key or change you job to Thief and get some tools to pick a lock.
   
3. Go to the Boyahda Tree and open coffers until you get the key item Old Gauntlets.
   
4. Go speak with Guslam again, he'll say he sucks and can't fix the Old Gauntlets.
   
5. In the Durable Sheilds shop, Deadly Minnow will mention getting info from a Mithra in the Tenshodo
   
6. Head to the Tenshodo in Lower Jeunoand find Yin Pocanakhu (J-8) and cough up 1,000 gil to hear a story.
   
7. Go to Port Jeuno and around the Jeuno Duty Free Shop (H-8), there will be some crates with ???. Click on the ??? to see a cut scene and ask to get the Gauntlets repaired.
   
8. What would an AF quest be without an NM? Go to Castle Zvahl Baileys and around (F-8) touch a torch to spawn a Dark Spark.
   
9. Kill Dark Spark (note: If others in your party need the key item below, you only have to kill him once per party, not per person).
   
10. Touch the SAME torch that spawned Dark Spark and you will get the key item Shadow Flames.
    
11. Go click on the ??? in Port Jeuno again and you will get the Drachen Finger Guantlets.
    
12. Speak with Guslam a final time and he mentions armor scattered around the world.
    
13. Make sure your main job is Dragoon or the following coffers won't open.
    
14. Go to Ifrit's Cauldron and open a coffer to get the Drachen Mail.
    
15. Go to the Quicksand Caves and open a coffer to get the Drachen Greaves.
